How to convert Deg. F to a RGB value

I have a IR thermometer and a RGB led. I would like to have the RGB led display the color of the temp.
In other words you have seen those temp bulbs icons that on the bottom have the color blue for cold and work their way up to RED for hot at the top.
Has anyone come across some code that will convert the temp in deg F OR C to a color in RGB values ?
