When requesting a file using an FTP client, for example CORE FTP, using the function below, I don't get a 'file_name' at all unless it matches the READ_FILENAME definition. Email is not a critical feature but I was setting one up, checked the password and so on multiple times, and it fails every time. Might be new security requirements.

Any known reason for this? Do I need to switch to SSL? Using port 587. I have no indication that the web hosting service now requires something different.
