The SB70LC Dual Serial-to-Ethernet device comes preloaded with software to translate serial and Ethernet data, and is configurable through any web browser. Network protocols include UDP, TCP, SSH and SSL. The SB70LC application code can be customized to any specific application requirements with a network development kit.
Standard Applications
If your application requires 3.3V LVTTL level serial ports, just plug in the SB70LC and go! Support for RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 can be achieved by adding external level shifters.
Custom Applications
The SB70LC software can be easily customized to your specific application requirements using the NetBurner SB70LC Serial to Ethernet Development Kit (NNDK-SB70LC-KIT):
- Process incoming or outgoing serial and network data
- Custom web pages
- Support for the I2C serial interface
- Support for the SPI serial interface
- Support for SD/MMC Flash memory cards
- Support for general purpose digitial inputs/outputs
Serial Tunnel
By using two NetBurner Serial to Ethernet devices you can create a "serial tunnel" that enables two serial devices to communicate over an IP network, even if both of your serial devices have no network capabilities. Real 32-Bit Performance
The SB70lc is the leader for low cost, high performance embedded networking. While other products in this price range are 8-bit processors with small amounts of paged memory and limited performance, the Freescale ColdFire 5270 is a full 32-bit high performance processor. The SB70LC has 8MBytes of SDRAM providing plenty of space for applications and buffering.
