[edit] Overview
Traditionally, companies using 8 and 16-bit platforms find it nearly impossible to run resource-intensive applications on fast Ethernet connections. The NetBurner modules features a Web-based control interface, a full 32-bit architecture providing 60+ MIPS and the full suite of TCP/IP protocols. The 32-bit high performance processing platform provides the horsepower to handle both 10/100 Ethernet connections and resource-demanding applications with ease and flexibility.
How to Use the Mod5272 in Your Product
The Module can be used as your product's core processor, or as a secondary network processor. It contains the Freescale ColdFire 5272 microprocessor, Flash memory, 8MBytes of SDRAM and 10/100 Ethernet including the magnetics, led's and RJ-45 connector. One hundred of the processor signal pins are brought out on two 0.1" center 50-pin connectors. These signals include the address bus, data bus, chip selects, interrupt inputs, timers, QSPI, PWM, 2UARTs, GPIO and USB. The module measures only 2" x 2.6".
